CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Quest Flow: This class combines the heart and soul of Kripalu Yoga with the depth and breadth of other traditions. We’ll stretch, breathe, play, energize and explore who we really are. Through breath, movement and stillness, we’ll strengthen our bodies, create more flexibility, open our hearts and calm our minds. We’ll learn to connect more deeply and authentically to ourselves, to our practice and the world around us. Appropriate for beginners and experienced students.

Kripalu Yoga: Appropriate for all levels – beginners and experienced students. Kripalu Yoga is the yoga of self-discovery and conscious awareness. This class offers a variety of postures, breath work, longer holdings and deep relaxation to revitalize the body and calm the mind. The Kripalu experience is centered upon increasing personal awareness, practicing with compassion and bringing mind, body and spirit into a state of harmony and balance.

Restorative Yoga: This gentle, all levels class is designed to help students let go of deeply held tensions from the body and the mind. We’ll use blankets, bolsters and other props to explore longer held, fully supported yoga postures, which allow a natural state of balance, healing, rest and renewal. Perfect for when you are recovering from an injury, needing to reduce stress or just want to take it easy. Even those with an active, dynamic practice will greatly benefit from the inner peace and deep release of this restorative class.

Sunrise Yoga: Come start your morning with a yoga practice designed to bring body, mind and soul from a place of sleep to a place of awareness and aliveness. A wonderful way to start your day! The practice moves from stillness into gentle stretching and gradually builds to a flow that awakens your body, balances your mind and uplifts your spirit. Class ends with guided breathing for mental clarity and concentration and an opportunity to set a positive intention for your day.

Whole Yoga: Yoga is a practice that’s meant to bring all aspects of our selves – body, mind and spirit – into union and alignment. This class seeks to do just that. Through posture flows, breath work, relaxation and centering, we’ll be guided to bring increased awareness, aliveness and balance into our whole being and into our lives, so that our thoughts, words and actions may reflect one another. Modifications will be offered for both beginner and advanced practitioners.

Flow Yoga: This class is an opportunity for students of all levels to experience the flow, rhythm and magic of integrating breath and postures together. It is a playful class that encourages students of all shapes and sizes to experiment, explore and discover themselves through the joy of fluid movement. This class will help to create more strength and flexibility in your bodies and offers an opportunity to allow an opening in your hearts and minds.

TGIF Yoga: Celebrate the start of the weekend with movement, breath and relaxation! This all levels class is based on the Kripalu tradition’s belief that the practice be inspired by student’s individual needs that day. It will include vinyasa flows and end with deeper stretches and longer relaxations. Modifications will be offered to support different levels of ability. Come breathe in the weekend and let go of your work week!

Yoga for Everybody: Designed for all body types, ages, fitness levels and interests. Our bodies feel different every day. Sometimes we need to be challenged, other times we feel the need to take it slow. This class does just that – allowing us to check in with ourselves and learning to honor our individuality through compassion. More than just stretching or a workout, yoga can make you happy, relaxed, balanced and peaceful.

Yoga Groove: This class incorporates music and movement for a relaxed, joyful and playful atmosphere. For many students, the combination of yoga postures, breath and music is the perfect vehicle for opening their bodies, calming their minds and connecting more deeply to spirit. Some (moderate) yoga experience is recommended, not for total beginners.

Meditation: The perfect way to end yoga class on Sunday morning – sitting together in silence. This quiet time is a great way to start up, reignite or deepen your meditation practice. Meditating in a group creates a wonderful sense of community and helps us to create or stay more committed to our own home practice.

6 WEEK CLASSES:

Intro to Yoga - 6 Week Class: This class is perfect for total beginners and those who want to spend more time on the basics. This class is the place to start for anyone interested in beginning Yoga or reconnecting with their practice. It establishes a solid foundation for the practice of yoga, including detailed instruction of yoga postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and yoga philosophy. *REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Yoga For Athletes - 6 Week Class: This 6-week class is for all athletes looking for the perfect complimentary practice to their sport specific training. Yoga for Athletes is not necessarily “hard core” athletic yoga. As athletes, you are already pushing your body in various intense ways. Your yoga practice should honor and be informed by what kind of sport you do, where you are in your training and your overall experience and abilities. This is not a “one size fits all” type of class. Variations will be given to help each individual athlete find a way to benefit from the practice in a safe and mindful way. When practiced consistently, yoga can improve balance and strength – including the core. It increases flexibility and range of motion, helps reduce injuries, quickens recovery time and teaches you how to breathe more efficiently. Yoga also provides mental benefits like reduced stress, a calm mind, plus sharper focus and concentration skills. This class is great for body, mind and spirit. *REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Yoga For Seniors: As our bodies grow older, yoga can seem like a daunting idea but it has so much to offer. The movement, breathing and stretching in yoga help maintain health at all ages, including healthy joints, circulation, lungs, plus increased awareness, energy, flexibility and clarity. This 6 Week Class will explore postures and sequences appropriate for seniors and will suit anyone who might be looking for a slower, gentler experience. Class begins with a “check in” and is designed around the needs of our bodies that day. Class ends with relaxation, breathing practice, a brief meditation and a short, optional “check-out”. This class is intended to build a sense of community among participants, through time built in for sharing and the experience of practicing yoga together. If you can’t commit to 6 sessions, call Johannah at: (603) 369-1998 to discuss other options. *REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Yoga For Personal Growth: Have you ever longed to hang around after yoga class and talk about the practice with others? Have you found yourself feeling the effects of yoga in your daily living but not quite sure how to fully integrate the two? Do you just love to practice and talk about yoga in a supportive atmosphere? This group is dedicated to the exploration of how yoga fuels our personal growth and shifts our relationship to the world around us. We’ll explore how yoga offers us support in our own personal process of transformation and how it’s a tool we can use as we encounter the challenges of being alive. We’ll look at how yoga can be a practice off the mat and what this centuries old practice has to offer us in the world today. Yoga for Growth is a 6 Week class and will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. It consists of an hour of yoga practice followed by an hour of discussion. Each week will focus on an aspect of yoga, decided upon beforehand by group members. Sharing of one’s personal experience with yoga and the integration of yoga into one’s daily life will be encouraged. This group is appropriate for all levels of practitioners. If you can’t commit to 6 sessions, call Johannah at: (603) 369-1998 to discuss other options. *REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Pilates: Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph H. Pilates over 70 years ago, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility and personal awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. The focus of this 6 Week Class is to teach mindful breathing while strengthening the core and stretching the abdomen and torso by solely using the body. All the amazing core strengthening helps with balance, back pain and athletic performance. Some folks say that the top benefits of doing Pilates exercise, is that they become stronger, longer, leaner and more able to do everything with grace and ease.  This is a wonderful compliment to yoga and will help your practice immensely. *REGISTRATION REQUIRED
